A Voice for Women's equality in the Roman Catholic CHurch Since 1975

WOC continues to create a home, a hope, and a network for those who seek and know justice. WOC remains the most visible and vocal group for women's full equality in our church today.

— Sr. Theresa Kane, RSM

Visible

Building power; leading and training faith-filled, non-violent activists; making headlines; and making change; we are experts in our fields, as theologians, activists, spokeswomen, ministers, and community leaders. Our activism is driven by our sincere desire to be in dialogue with church leaders so that we may collaborate in the Gospel work of the transformation of unjust structures, ensuring the gifts of the whole church are engaged.

Theological

We advance intersectional, theological work on the imperative of women's ordination and working to counter the anti-women's ordination arguments through forums for dialogue, publications, and empowerment of emerging theological voices.

Dialogical

We believe in a synodal and dialogue-driven path. We trust that our witness can and does changes hearts, minds, and policy. We empower informed conversations with members of the hierarchy, and consistently raise the issue of women's exclusion from decision-making and leadership roles in the Church from the grassroots to the Vatican.

The Women’s Ordination Conference is a grassroots-driven movement that uncompromisingly calls for women’s ordination and gender equity in the Roman Catholic church through bold activism; dialogue; and creative, prayerful witness.
